As a Life Coach, my greatest wish is to help people excel in all areas of their lives. When I am in a coaching relationship with a client, I provide a safe space, skills, and tools that support them as they explore freely, make choices and take more responsibility for the lives they create. This personalized attention promotes faster personal growth as clients experience success and begin to trust their own wisdom.

Sounds a lot like Parenting doesn't it?

I love Motherhood even though I know I'm not perfect. Neither are the kids, which turns out to be an okay thing for all of us thank goodness.

As my formal Life Coach training progressed, I came know that I was in the right profession simply because I am a Mom. My Ah Ha Moment — the one that caused me to KNOW it's okay for us to be “perfect in our imperfection” — came when I realized I have unconsciously used many “official coaching skills” to raise two confident, adventurous and loving children. Just goes to show how every experience can be a guidepost for our path!

My coaching practice does not specifically address parenting, however I am dedicated to the belief that our children are the future of this world and our responsibility as parents is to be as happy as possible so that our kids will know it is possible to be happy when it's their turn to be an adult.

I hope you know me well enough by now to see my definition of happy contains many facets, including the confidence to work through the challenges that life brings our way. When kids see us stressed out and unhappy year after year, it's no wonder they don't ever want to grow up! Would you?

So our mission, as I see it, is less about making sure our kids do what we say and more about modeling how an authentically happy adult navigates the vast ocean of life. In this way everyone wins.

Cut out each one and if you want to get a bit fancy, go ahead and laminate them. Here are a few suggested uses:

Pick one word every week to play with and notice what comes up.
Pick one that you really like and prominently display (or carry) it as a reminder of a change that you would like to practice.
You might even ask your kids to pick a favorite so that you can discover new things together.

Any way you choose will be right. My intention is to support your efforts in cultivating a great relationship with your children.
